At Centrecare, we're committed to supporting the well-being of children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence.

We're currently seeking experienced and compassionate professionals to join our Specialised Family Domestic Violence (SFDV) programs as Children's Counsellors. In this role, you'll work with a dedicated team to provide trauma-informed interventions to children and young people affected by FDV.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering counselling, case management, and trauma-informed interventions to support children and young people in overcoming their experiences.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and developing tailored support plans to address these needs.
  • Building and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Co-facilitating groups and providing targeted interventions to support family functioning and promote healing.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional documentation of all client work to ensure high-quality service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience providing child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including family and domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated expertise in case management, intake, assessment, and referral.
  • High levels of interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to provide outreach services as required.
  • A current National Police Certificate and valid WA Working with Children Card.
