The company operates a highly diversified fleet of specialized self-unloading vessels, off-shore transhippers, and Handysize bulk carriers. CSL delivers millions of tons of cargo to industrial customers annually.
About the RoleCSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full-time Third Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath, operating in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the First Engineer, the Third Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the Fuel and Lube Oil Purification system, boiler maintenance and feed water control, compressed air machinery, and domestic services as directed.
Responsibilities include:
- Safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
- Safe operation of the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
- Performing day work in conjunction with a rotating 24-hour system of Gear Turn including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler and boiler feed water control and heat exchanges as directed;
- Any other duties as required.
Educational requirement: an approved Engineer Class 3 qualification (as per AMSA Marine Order 72);
Minimum 12 months relevant experience in a related role, including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts;
Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable);
Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable);
Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable);
A Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC);
An Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights; and
Living in Australia.
