Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Backend API Developer to join our project team in Sydney. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for improving existing functionality and performance, as well as designing and building new features.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop systems to increase functionality and usability.
  2. Build features and improvements from conceptualization to realization, working closely with the software engineering team.
  3. Develop automated tests for the REST API.
  4. Take operational responsibility for the services and code base that you will develop.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
  3. Mandatory experience building REST APIs with Golang.
  4. Experience working with modern TypeScript frameworks, such as React, is highly regarded.
  5. Experience working with two or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, developing large software systems, and/or security software development.
  6. Experience building automated tests with frameworks like httpExpect, Ginkgo, and Testify is favourable.
  7. Experience using TypeScript is favourable.
  8. Experience building test automation frameworks with web browser automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Puppeteer is favourable.
  9. Experience developing microservices infrastructure is ideal.
  10. Previous 'start-up' or 'scale-up' experience is favourable.
  11. Familiarity with Docker, Postman, and GitLab is favourable.
  12. Experience with graphing libraries and high-throughput real-time systems is highly regarded.
