The Individual Placement and Support Program (IPS) offers vocational assistance to young people with mental health issues up to the age of 25 who are at risk of long-term welfare dependency due to disengagement from employment and education.
About the Role- As a Peer Support Worker, you will utilize your lived experience and recovery to support others in navigating their mental health challenges and achieving their individual vocational goals.
- You will work in conjunction with staff to support young people in gaining employment or engaging in education.
- The primary aim is to minimize the impact of mental health issues on young people and enable recovery through meaningful employment or education.
- You will build effective rapport with young people by providing a safe, inclusive, and professional environment.
- You have experience supporting a friend or family member with mental health challenges.
- You possess the ability to use your lived experience aligned with mental health challenges to help young people seeking work and study.
- Employment experience in any sector is desirable.
