Assistant Head of College - Learning and Teaching (Middle Years)

Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educational leader to join our College Leadership Team as Assistant Head of College - Learning and Teaching (Middle Years).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the academic outcomes of students, particularly in NAPLAN improvement for Years 5, 7, and 9.
  • Develop and implement effective learning and teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure the College Learning Framework is implemented and rigorous classroom practice is developed.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff to improve student and teacher outcomes.
  • Develop and manage operational aspects of the College, including curriculum development and implementation.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary level graduate qualification in Education (essential) and post-graduate qualifications at Masters level.
  • Experience in Middle or Senior Leadership roles within schools.
  • Experience in leading and improving student and teacher outcomes in learning and teaching, especially literacy and numeracy outcomes.
  • Meet all compliance requirements as an educator in Queensland.
  • Current National Police check.

  • Religious Leadership: Demonstrated ability to foster and promote the development and implementation of school policies, programs, and procedures that reflect gospel values and clearly articulate Catholic values.
  • Staff and Community Leadership: Demonstrated ability to collaborate in team building within the whole staff community and provide appropriate liaison between staff, students, and parents.
  • Organisational Leadership: Demonstrated ability to develop effective administrative practices that facilitate and encourage others' involvement and development.
  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to work with all teachers to ensure that policy and practice in the school delivers the best learning opportunities to all students.
