Head of House Leader

Villanova College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head of House to join our vibrant educational community. This middle leadership role is integral in fostering student wellbeing, academic excellence, and a supportive learning environment that embodies our college values and mission.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the academic, cultural, social, and physical welfare and development of students in Thomas House.
- Assist the Heads of School, the Dean of Teaching and Learning, Director of Wellbeing and Pastoral Programmes, and other College Leadership Team members in pastoral, academic, administrative, disciplinary, and counselling roles.
- Develop and maintain a dynamic, student-centered classroom that aligns with relevant educational policies and practices.
- Support the academic and personal growth of students throughout their journey at the College, ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Monitor student progress and attendance, providing timely interventions to address individual needs.
- Build and nurture strong pastoral care connections that promote students' character, spiritual, and moral development.
- Actively participate in co-curricular activities and community events to enhance student engagement and foster a sense of belonging.
- Provide effective pastoral leadership by collaborating with school leadership to implement behaviour management and restorative practices that promote a positive school culture.
- Oversee the holistic development of students within your house, addressing both academic and personal concerns.
- Facilitate open communication with parents and/or guardians regarding their children's wellbeing and academic progress, fostering a supportive partnership.
- Coordinate pastoral care activities and assist in the orientation of new students, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported.
- Actively lead and engage in the school community, embodying and promoting the College's mission and values.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to staff development in pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration among staff, supporting professional growth and leading professional development opportunities for staff based on identified needs, to promote a culture of learning.
- Collaborate with other leaders to drive initiatives that enhance educational practices and improve student outcomes.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in education, safety, and wellbeing to continually enhance school operations.
- Analyse student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring data-driven decision making and targeted support for student success.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on academic and pastoral performance, utilising data to inform decisions and strategies.
- Support the sacramental, liturgical, ritual, and prayer life of the College, ensuring that the teachings, values, and practices of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
- Be a visible leader, driving continuous improvement strategies within the educational environment and promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
