About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Delivery Excellence Strategist to lead our efforts in driving large-scale program delivery and improving software engineering practices. As a key member of our Products and Technology team, you will be accountable for implementing agile principles and practices across the organisation, enabling the design and delivery of customer-centric solutions at faster speed and higher quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align strategic vision with Chapter Area Lead, inspiring teams with a realistic yet ambitious vision.
  • Work with global CoE and Chapter members to establish best practice standards and mature Agile/DevOps team performance.
  • Manage CoE resource allocation with CoE Leads, ensuring required capabilities are available and mitigating resourcing issues.
  • Collaborate with Chapter Area Leaders and stakeholders to lead software engineering strategy, defining software development standards and designing innovative end-to-end architectural solutions.
  • Contribute to writing production-ready code where necessary, focusing on edge cases and errors that can serve as examples of best practices for other engineers.
  • Foster a culture of observability across multiple teams, supporting their ability to use operational data to enhance stability and performance.
  • Oversee design, build, and maintenance of complex software application technologies interacting with Telstra processes and systems.
  • Engage with and influence stakeholders to incorporate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services, or systems meeting Telstra's time, cost, and quality standards.
About You
  • Demonstrated expertise in large-scale program delivery with a track record of successfully leading diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Project and Program Management tools and practices, with adaptability to new technologies.
  • Advanced Agile Framework Proficiency, including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and DevOps, promoting a collaborative Agile environment.
  • Extensive experience in Engineering, with a well-rounded IT generalist background and automation scripting skills highly desirable.
  • Proven leader fostering collaboration, influencing team members, and delivering exceptional outcomes for Telstra.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, ability to develop plans aligning with Telstra's objectives, and influencing stakeholders effectively.
