Yamagen is a vibrant, modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. We're seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our menu to new heights.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in high-end restaurants, with expertise in live fuel cooking and tempura. A strong focus on quality, creativity, and attention to detail is essential for this role.

  • Develop and implement innovative menus that showcase Yamagen's unique izakaya vibe.
  • Lead a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and stock rotation.
  • Collaborate with the F&B Manager and outlet Supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Japanese restaurant or similar environment.
  • Proven expertise in live fuel cooking and tempura.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
