About Yamagen
Yamagen offers a modern Japanese izakaya experience with a stylish, Tokyo-inspired ambiance. Our menu features fresh sashimi, sushi, share plates, robata dishes, and a curated selection of whisky, saké, and cocktails. Executive Chef Adam Lane leads our culinary team, delivering exceptional Omakase experiences.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated Demi Chef to join our dynamic team at Yamagen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, a team-first attitude, and a desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Australia's leading designer hotel brand.
Key responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain an efficient kitchen environment.
2. Attend to guest needs to ensure an outstanding dining experience.
3. Coordinate with the Chef de Partie on daily priorities.
4. Perform kitchen duties as directed, ensuring timely and quality work.
5. Minimize waste and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
6. Assist in training junior staff and act on behalf of the Chef de Partie when needed.
7. Perform cooking, butchering, baking, or pastry duties as required, supervising other cooks.
8. Follow all standard operating procedures and promote a professional learning environment.
9. Perform other duties as directed by senior Chefs and maintain harmonious team relationships.
10. Ensure knowledge of food products and comply with all health and safety policies.
