Financial Markets Risk In Change Leader

Job Title: Financial Markets Risk In Change Leader

We are seeking an experienced operational risk and compliance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing change projects across the end-to-end value chain in the Global Financial Markets business unit.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the 1LoD on change projects to ensure risks are identified and addressed, while ensuring business objectives are met.
  • Document and assess the design effectiveness of controls, capturing regulatory changes and their impact within the risk & compliance appetite.
  • Ensure process documentation is sufficient for seamless delivery into BAU.
  • Implement appropriate monitoring controls and KRIs to provide ongoing oversight of operating effectiveness.
  • Provide 1LoD input to issue prioritization and remediation, undertaking incident management and risk reporting when required.
  • Establish a risk-aware culture within Projects, collaborating with 1LoD and 2LoD to incorporate compliance obligations into business unit compliance plans.
Skill Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational Risk & Controls in Institutional Banking / Financial Markets (including those gained overseas).
  • Capability to assess operational risks, design/test adequate controls, and assist with implementation as a 1LoD function.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice/recommendation on the design effectiveness of controls.
  • Outstanding ability to verbalize complex operational risk language to business leaders.
  • Pragmatic and self-motivated Risk Leader willing to get hands dirty.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Knowledge/experience in global-scale regulatory reforms (e.g., MiFID, Initial Margin CFTC, GDR) gained in Australia or overseas.
