Job Description:
A clinical midwifery specialist is needed to lead and develop less experienced midwives in the provision of high-quality antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for nurturing and teaching student midwives in clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop less experienced midwives in the delivery of comprehensive midwifery services
- Nurture and teach student midwives in real-world clinical environments
- Develop and implement standards of practice for birthing suites
- Initiate research and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan, deliver, and coordinate women and newborn care
- Apply advanced clinical expertise in relation to midwifery practice
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA
- Minimum five years' relevant experience working in antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal midwifery services
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical expertise and make independent decisions that support positive outcomes for women and newborns
