About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed term contract position that involves supporting the design and implementation of end user tools for insurance risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the development of end user tools for insurance risk management
  • Driving the migration of local reporting onto a group solution for insurance risk management
  • Improving the robustness and integrity of the APRA reporting process
  • Providing support for projects such as the annual business plan and target capital review, stress and scenario testing
  • Completing ad hoc projects related to insurance risk management and reporting
About You

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in insurance or financial services, preferably corporate actuarial or life & health insurance industry.

  • Proven experience in insurance or financial services
  • Experience with life insurance accounting, management reporting and actuarial valuation system implementation is preferred
  • Possess a Fellow of Australian Institute of Actuaries qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle both conceptual and practical issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, good judgement and business insight
  • Enjoys team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives
About the Team

Swiss Re Australia's Life & Health Valuation & Analysis team comprises approximately thirty staff across our Sydney and Bangalore offices, responsible for delivering all actuarial reporting requirements and for developing a deep understanding of the diverse and complex reinsurance business in Australia and New Zealand.

Our team aims to proactively provide actionable insights to senior leaders locally and globally. We collaborate with cross functional teams throughout Swiss Re to help deliver efficiently implemented projects and reinsurance offerings to our clients. We are constantly striving to use the latest analytical tools to provide more insights to both our internal stakeholders and our clients, helping achieve our goal of making the world more resilient.
