Empowering Lives Through Holistic Support
1 week ago
At Everyday Independence, we're committed to empowering lives through holistic support. As a Developmental Educator in our Northern Brisbane team, you'll play a vital role in breaking down barriers and ensuring individuals with disabilities achieve the best possible outcomes.
With over 40 hubs across Australia and a united team of talented professionals, we're dedicated to making inclusion possible for all Australians. In this newly introduced role, you'll work closely with an interdisciplinary team to become a highly effective social model therapist. You'll provide person-centered support and planning for people with disabilities, their families, and support teams, building strong relationships to help them envision a life full of positive experiences and opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you'll hold a Bachelor or Masters of Disability (or equivalent) and be eligible to join the DEAI as a member upon commencement. You may also need to submit a suitability assessment and obtain a Behaviour Support Practitioner certification from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Passionate about removing barriers using the social model of therapy, you'll demonstrate empathy and understanding while being open and non-judgmental.
As a Developmental Educator, your key responsibilities will include working alongside participants and their key supports to develop new skills and habits, problem-solving challenges that prevent participants from living fulfilled lives, and championing the role of a social model practitioner. You'll use evidence-based practice and professional reasoning to recommend the most appropriate team of supports, therapy, duration, location, and timing. Your goal will be to enhance people's capacity to make their own life choices and increase their independence.
We offer a competitive salary package ranging from $83,582 to $100,342 per annum, inclusive of annual leave loading and superannuation. Our benefits include flexible working options, wellbeing days, purchase leave, paid parental leave, purpose leave, regular social events, free Pilates and yoga classes, snacks and drinks, relocation options, pet-friendly hubs, and discounts on various goods and services.
If you're passionate about creating a more inclusive society and are driven to see high-impact outcomes in people's lives, apply today to join our team of change-makers. With our comprehensive training and support, you'll have the opportunity to grow your expertise and skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
