Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Developmental Educator to join our team in Southern Brisbane. As a Disability Support Specialist, you'll work collaboratively with individuals, families, and support teams to empower people with disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools to identify individual needs and develop personalized plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide person-centered support and planning, ensuring participants achieve optimal outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with participants, families, and support teams to promote empowerment, independence, and community engagement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability or related field
  • Eligibility for DEAI membership upon commencement
  • Strong advocacy skills, with a focus on removing barriers and promoting social model therapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders
