Job Description

About the Role:

This role supports the commercial operations in delivering an efficient payroll service. You will join a close-knit team that values teamwork and great attitudes to achieve results.

The purpose of this role is to manage end-to-end payroll and support the commercial manager with a range of payroll duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage fortnightly payroll for circa 150 team members, consisting of both salary and wages, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industrial instruments, including modern awards, National Employment Standards, superannuation, statutory payments, workers compensation, and tax legislation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on payroll-related matters, resolving payroll queries and discrepancies.
  • Update and maintain payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Prepare payroll journals and reports.

About You:

This role is suitable for a senior payroll specialist with experience in managing payroll functions. You must be confident in your abilities and possess:

  • Strong demonstrated experience in payroll, preferably with at least 5 years of previous experience in payroll roles.
  • Knowledge of current payroll legislation.
  • Ability to effectively deal with sensitive matters while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Capacity to work independently and effectively in a team.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • A background in UKG and Payroll Metrics payroll would be regarded.
