About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a leading mining organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Specialist for a 6-month temporary contract, based in Brisbane's CBD. This role offers the chance to contribute to payroll operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a large, complex payroll environment using SAP, or possess in-depth payroll expertise within the mining sector.

About the Role:
As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will manage the processing of payroll, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and support year-end reconciliations. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced payroll professional with mining sector experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll files and ensure timely completion
  • Manage payroll records in the timesheet system and SAP
  • Calculate and process termination, redundancy payments, and salary adjustments
  • Reconcile payroll tax and manage statutory deductions
  • Support year-end reconciliations and reporting for payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, and LSL

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally within the mining sector
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office and payroll systems Tier One payroll systems - ideally SAP
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
