Job Overview:

As a senior payroll specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire payroll cycle across all Australian entities.

  • Oversee the full payroll cycle, including monthly and ad hoc payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Manage payroll calculations and reconciliations, covering salaries, wages, bonuses, allowances, terminations, redundancies, and leave entitlements.

  • Manage senior management share plan dividend payments and coordinate preparation of annual statements.
  • Verify casual hours in consultation with relevant segment managers.
  • Interpret and apply relevant employment legislation, including payroll tax, superannuation, and PAYG withholding.
  • Process and submit all required statutory payments and reports: PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation contributions, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and annual reconciliation statements.
  • Maintain payroll compliance and internal controls, including data security and confidentiality.
  • Act as primary contact for employee payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems, and policies.
  • Lead or support payroll system upgrades or implementation projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in payroll management, preferably with expertise in Australian payroll regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
