Senior Project Officer Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the energy transition in Victoria. The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action seeks a Senior Project Officer to work in a dynamic environment to deliver real environmental and social benefits.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive simplicity from complexity and take a creative approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Description:

To harness State and Commonwealth investment to deliver real environmental and social benefits to Victoria's social housing renters through effective project management and stakeholder engagement.

  • Project Management: To develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: To build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community groups.
  • Problem Solving: To identify and address complex problems, taking a creative approach to find innovative solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications:

An appropriate qualification in public policy, business, project management, environmental management or approved equivalent would be highly desirable.

  • Project/Program Management: Demonstrated experience in project/program management, Government processes and operations, especially in public sector program delivery would be desirable.
  • Energy Efficiency Sector: Understanding of the Victorian energy efficiency sector that relates to buildings and the residential/consumer sector is desirable but not essential.

  • Hybrid Work Arrangements: The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
