Senior Environmental Advisor

This is a 4-month temporary position that requires the individual to partner across all divisions and engage with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to government environmental policy, legislation, and guidelines.
- Project Delivery: Manage and deliver environmental projects and initiatives, including scoping, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Investigations and Reporting: Lead inspections, investigations, audits, and reporting under relevant environmental legislation, licenses, and approvals.
- Data Analysis: Collate, analyze, and manage environmental data to support decision making and reporting.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver environmental training and inductions for employees, contractors, tenants, and stakeholders.
- System Maintenance: Maintain our Port's Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 Standard.
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in environmental management, ideally within heavy industry or port environments.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, policies, and practices.
- Hands-on experience developing and implementing environmental practices in dust, water, and waste management.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including working effectively with regulators.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports, policies, and plans at an executive level.
