Heavy Diesel Fitter Lead

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter Lead to join our team at Mt Holland Mine. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy diesel fitting and leadership skills to motivate and direct a skilled mobile maintenance team.

The role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining equipment as per Thiess' servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation. You will source technical information from relevant reference manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based systems, provide technical information to staff and operations personnel, and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure.

About You:
  • Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervision of mobile maintenance HD Fitters.
  • Possess a positive leadership style, with exceptional time-management skills and the ability to pivot around priorities while providing guidance, assistance and supervision to the maintenance team.
  • Manage performance, planning servicing, repair and preventative maintenance heavy mobile mining equipment.
  • Ensure work health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is completed to a high standard by tradespeople.
  • Must be proactive in the workplace to ensure quality work is being completed.
  • High Risk Work Licences Advantageous – WP, LF, and Rigging.
