Heavy Diesel Mechanic Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Toowoomba. This role involves delivering exceptional service to customers across various industries, including automotive, mining, and power generation.

The ideal candidate will possess mechanical trades qualification (Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light vehicle mechanic or plant mechanic with heavy experience) and have experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products.

A competitive hourly rate, sign-on bonus, overtime penalties, uniform, further training, annual variable compensation program, income protection insurance, and discounts with select private health insurance, PC software/hardware, and vehicles will be offered to the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform engine repairs and maintenance for heavy diesel products on an on-call roster.
  2. Diagnose and repair engines, inspect and replace components as required.
  3. Conduct engine rebuilding and reconditioning tasks.
  4. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mechanical trades qualification (Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Light vehicle mechanic or plant mechanic with heavy experience).
  • Experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
  • Ideal possession of engine rebuild and reconditioning experience or knowledge.
  • Hitachi, Komatsu & Liebherr experience is highly desirable.
