Instrumentation Engineering Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Engineer to provide engineering and design support to our projects seamlessly and with high quality.

The project involves designing and specifying general instrumentation, valves and control systems for a gold mining operation with three open pit mines, a processing plant, tailings management facilities and supporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing process plant instrumentation for small, medium and large size projects.
  • Preparing scope of services for control systems, telecommunications and instrumentation packages.
  • Modifying panel layouts, wiring diagrams and termination diagrams for industrial control systems.
  • Developing changeover plans for brownfield control system upgrades.
  • Designing PLC and remote IO control systems.
  • Designing control rooms and locating control cabinets within plants.
  • Participating in design and hazard reviews.
  • Reviewing supplier documentation to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 10-13 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with functional safety systems is highly regarded.
Desired Skills
  • Engineering degree and demonstrated experience in instrumentation engineering.
  • Excellent attitude towards safety and ability to comply with safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated design and engineering experience in mining or oil and gas industries.
  • Current knowledge of industry standards pertinent to instrumentation engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
