Enterprise Risk Management Specialist

The Enterprise Risk Manager is a pivotal role within an organization, responsible for designing and implementing a risk management framework that spans across all entities. This includes overseeing the risk functions and processes, serving as a resource for various compliance matters, and working closely with General Counsel and business unit leaders to ensure a layered approach to managing risk.

This role involves providing critical support to the Director of Information Technology in managing the company's Information Security program, including key processes and controls such as Vendor Risk Assessments, Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery tests, etc. The Risk Manager also oversees compliance calendar management and testing using compliance management tools to track and execute required tests and certifications.

In addition, the Risk Manager supports the various compliance officers within the business units in compliance program management, including risk assessments, regulatory update monitoring, and compliance testing procedures. They also coordinate internal and external audit functions, including scheduling and managing internal audits, AML/BSA audits, and preparing for regulatory examinations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of risk management principles, excellent communication skills, and leadership abilities. A college degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred, along with 5+ years of experience in Risk Management. The successful candidate will be able to self-identify opportunities for improvement, possess strong research, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and have a positive attitude with the ability to adapt easily to a constantly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a risk assessment framework spanning the organization
  • Manage recurring procedurally defined risk management tasks
  • Serve as Chair and coordinate the Risk Oversight Committee structure for each entity
  • Design and execute internal control reviews to test high-risk processes
  • Support the Director of Information Technology in managing the Information Security program
  • Oversee compliance calendar management and testing
  • Support compliance officers in compliance program management
  • Coordinate internal and external audit functions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • College Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk Management
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong research, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to self-identify opportunities for improvement
  • Positive attitude and adaptability
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Travel Requirements:
  • Less than 5% of the time, but occasional travel is necessary
