Work as a Veterinary Anaesthetist

The role of a veterinary anaesthetist is to provide high-quality care to animals undergoing surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have the skills and qualifications required to work in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement anaesthetic plans for patients undergoing surgery.
  • Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer anaesthesia and monitor patients' vital signs during surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including veterinarians and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in anaesthesiology from a recognized college or university (e.g., DACVAA, DECVAA, FANZCVS).
  • Extensive experience in veterinary anaesthesia, preferably in a large animal hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
