Position Overview
The Faculty of Education at Southern Cross University is looking for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Education (Human Society and Its Environment) to influence the future of education through teaching, research, and community engagement.
Our Faculty is recognized globally for its excellence in collaborative and interdisciplinary educational and social research. Our dynamic research initiatives address significant issues both locally and internationally, with key areas of focus including sustainability, environmental studies, and the arts in education.
Key Responsibilities
This role offers a significant opportunity to teach students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, enhancing their knowledge in the essential field of Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking educational research. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, alongside effective educational design and implementation.
- Conducting research and scholarly activities that align with the Faculty's strategic objectives.
- Participating in community and professional engagement initiatives that bolster the University and Faculty's reputation.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant field, along with an initial teacher education qualification and a proven record of high-quality teaching across various educational programs. Furthermore, you should demonstrate:
- Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative curricula and teaching resources that enhance student learning.
- A strong research or teaching scholarship track record, including publications in reputable journals, external research funding, and supervision of higher degree research candidates.
- Active involvement in professional practice, staff development, and contributions to relevant professional organizations or community groups.
Compensation and Benefits

- Full-time and ongoing.
- Available at various locations with relocation support provided.
- Compensated at Academic Level C or B, based on qualifications and experience.
- Academic Level C: Base salary ranges from $128,427 to $147,663 per annum, plus 17% employer contribution to superannuation, totaling up to $172,765.
- Academic Level B: Base salary ranges from $105,344 to $124,585 per annum, plus 17% employer contribution to superannuation, totaling up to $145,764.
