Job Opportunity

The Classified Registry Supervisor and Deputy Communications Security Officer will play a crucial role in the management of classified information and materiel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing classified items, personnel, and physical security accreditation requirements;
  • IT account administration;
  • Security governance and security handling requirements for TOP SECRET CODEWORD information and materiel on behalf of Defence and the Australian Signals Directorate;

As the unit experiences an exponential growth due to an increasing workforce, placing additional demand in the management of classified information and materiel, you may be required to travel to Canberra for training and liaison purposes with national agencies. You may also need to work after hours at times when unit elements are tasked to meet short notice timeframes, including weekends.

About Our Team

You will be part of an Army Unit Headquarters based at Borneo Barracks, Cabarlah, playing a vital role in ensuring that Army capabilities and sensitive technologies are delivered uncompromised, with a superior level of security assurance. Working to the unit operations cell, the role is part of a team providing strategic level advice on policing and security matters.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, applicants must demonstrate:

  • Leadership experience;
  • Experience working in a protective security and/or risk management environment;
  • Detailed knowledge of the Protective Security Principals Framework (PSPF) and Defence Security Principals Framework (DSPF);
  • Knowledge of policy and technical notes for the physical security of zones;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • The ability to influence and build relationships with a network of stakeholders;
  • The ability to undertake and deliver security risk assessments;
  • The ability to undertake after hours work at infrequent times due to unit requirements;
