About EBR

EBR is a leading agency seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Specialist to support their provision of functional Health and Safety Management across all project activities. The role contributes to the maintenance of an effective risk management process, through implementing safety policies, protocols, and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of a detailed safety management plan that delivers on legal obligations, is project-focused, and reinforces relationships with key stakeholders.

Identify, investigate, and resolve problems, complaints, and issues raised in consultation with operational management and staff, putting appropriate controls in place to proactively manage risks.

Support the creation and development of Safety reports and other documentation for projects, including summary documents, guidelines, manuals, newsletters, precis, and bulletins.

Undertake review processes, practices, and documentation to ensure good governance and systems are in place to manage business risks throughout project lifecycles.

Provide technical and professional advice on rail safety, heavy vehicle national law (HVNL), and health & safety issues, participating in compliance audits for relevant safety contractors and consultants.

Support site investigations, identifying contributing factors to failures and incidents, and corrective actions to resolve these, following up to close out actions.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health and safety or extensive relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in safety management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and achieving results under time constraints

Benefits:
