**Industrial Liaison Role**

This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that advocates for workers' rights and represents firefighters in Queensland.

We are seeking a skilled individual to provide initial responses to member inquiries and issues. Under the supervision of experienced officers, you will assist with policy writing, negotiation, and representation at union forums.

You will develop skills through direct assistance and become independent in your role over time. Your expertise will be developed to enable you to write policy, represent members, negotiate on their behalf, and advocate before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • - Knowledge of the Queensland industrial relations system or the ability to acquire this knowledge promptly via experience in other jurisdictional frameworks.
  • - Highly developed written and verbal communication skills adaptable for a broad range of purposes and audiences.
  • - Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
  • - High level of research skill.
  • - Highly developed analysis and interpretation skills.
  • - Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • - Commitment to the Union Movement values.
  • - A valid driver's license.

A qualification in an IR related field or significant practical experience in this area will be highly regarded. Experience working in a Union environment, particularly in an inbound contact industrial setting, will also be beneficial.
