Job Opportunity: Disability Services Officer

As a Disability Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks such as personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to help individuals build meaningful relationships.
  • Accompanying or transporting individuals to medical appointments, social events, or community activities.
  • Supporting the development of life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and hygiene.
  • Monitoring health and reporting concerns to family members, caregivers, or healthcare professionals.
  • Documenting support provided and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Advocating for the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or higher in Disability Support, Community Services, or related fields.
  • Qualification in Aged Care, Disability Care, or related fields.
  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
  • National Police Check within the last 6 months.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Driver's License with ability to travel within NT, Darwin, and surrounding areas.
