Leisure Program Coordinator

This is a role that requires an individual with excellent organisational and communication skills to lead and support leisure and lifestyle staff in planning, implementing and evaluating leisure programs for residents. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and coordinate resident-driven leisure programs that promote psychological, social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural wellbeing.
  • Provide opportunities for residents to participate in leisure and recreation activities that enhance self-esteem and personal fulfilment.
  • Lead and support Leisure and Lifestyle staff, working closely with the home's staff to deliver high-quality person-centred services.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate programs to ensure they meet resident needs, suggesting improvements where necessary.
Essentials:
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (previously Leisure and Lifestyle) is required.
  • Experience in leisure and lifestyle activities, as well as industry knowledge, is essential.
  • Knowledge of Dementia and current best practices in leisure and lifestyle activities is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and facilitating activity and lifestyle programs for older persons and frail aged individuals is necessary.
