Public Relations Specialist

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Specialist to coordinate day-to-day media and communications services. As a key member of the team, you will handle media enquiries, research public relations issues, prepare responses, and provide strategic advice on contentious matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle and respond to media enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Research public relations issues, providing strategic advice and preparing responses, including arranging interviews and organizing events.
  • Prepare releases, speeches, and briefing materials for senior officials.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide high-level advice on responses to contentious issues.
  • Coordinate public affairs activities, events, and communications projects on behalf of the organization.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies on behalf of the organization.
  • Write, edit, and proof communications materials for various purposes.
  • Facilitate the production and publication of communications materials.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with journalists across all forms of media.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, journalism, or other communications fields.
  • Experience in managing proactive and reactive media activity, including sensitive or contentious issues.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills for various audiences and media types.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills for liaison with stakeholders, including media.
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills for developing effective strategic communication and media strategies.
