Contribute to Koori Justice Unit Policy Development:
This role offers a vital opportunity to contribute to the Department of Justice and Community Safety's Koori Justice Unit. As a Senior Program Officer, you will work closely with the Manager and other team members to provide strategic advice, analysis, and initiatives that support the development of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement Phase 5.
- Utilize your program design expertise to lead the development of AJA5 programmatic components, ensuring they are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and aligned with Aboriginal community priorities.
- Review existing programs and initiatives under the AJA4, assessing performance, alignment with policy settings, and objectives to inform future programs and initiatives for consideration in the development of AJA5.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to draft and coordinate the AJA-related budget bid, aligning it with AJA priorities and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, an understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal Victorians, and experience in advocacy and delivering project-related functions through community consultation and targeted engagement.
