Job Summary

This role is pivotal in leading and managing the manufacturing operations to ensure safe and efficient production of products. The successful candidate will deliver effective resources to achieve site targets in collaboration with key stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a culture of safety through leadership, role modeling, and compliance to safety systems
  • Implement improvement strategies on quality standards across the site to meet all our quality standards and specifications
  • Identify, recommend, and drive continuous improvement for all site operations
  • Monitor business risks and provide recommendations to eliminate or alleviate them
  • Lead plant performance standards including downtime and efficiency
  • Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Manage the operations team through strong people management processes and effective communication
  • Coordinate shift scheduling and overtime
  • Conduct weekly/monthly stocktakes of finished products
  • Plan, track, and manage daily export containers

Requirements
  • Proven leadership and people management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Sound understanding of mechanical equipment and safety aspects of manufacturing
  • Experience in Export Container management through tracking and planning
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Excellent work ethic and value producing quality products
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid Forklift licence and/or mobile plant tickets (an advantage)
