Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer with Hydro Tasmania, you will play a crucial role in managing asset lifecycles and optimising performance of our generation fleet. This involves providing real-time engineering services, contributing to the planning and delivery of maintenance and repairs, and ensuring assets are available to generate as needed to supply the National Electricity Market.
We're seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, who has technical experience in industrial or production environments. You should excel in designing, implementing, and optimising mechanical systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Offer commercially and technically sound engineering advice to balance plant condition with commercial needs.
- Contribute to the development of lifecycle asset management strategies aimed at improving asset reliability.
- Provide engineering input to support plant condition assessments, using historical asset data, inspections, and investigations.
- Work across the state to gain a thorough understanding of our asset fleet and respond effectively when required.
- Ensure projects and maintenance activities are properly engineered, resourced, and completed successfully.
