
Job Opportunity for Disability Employment Advocate

We are seeking a motivated and values-driven professional to join our team as an Employment Opportunities Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in implementing our employer strategy, aimed at enhancing employment outcomes for individuals with disability.
You will focus on building strong relationships with local employers, supporting them to become confident, capable, and inclusive workplaces. Your key responsibilities will include securing suitable and sustainable jobs for our participants and nurturing relationships with employers to increase repeat business and conversions.
- Ensure each participant's individual needs and aspirations for employment are at the center of your focus
- Meet and exceed monthly KPI targets: sustainable placements and high level of conversion
- Build and manage an employer database to generate suitable job opportunities for our participants
- Deliver tailored resources and advice to improve employer confidence in recruiting, supporting and retaining individuals with disability
- Facilitate the creation of sustainable job opportunities through job creation and job carving
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to support participants with complex needs
- Ensure that sufficient and compliant documentation is maintained to prove services have been delivered in compliance with relevant guidelines
- Reverse market to employers, to promote skills and strengths of participants
- Advise staff of labor market fluctuations and industry/employer needs
- Advise employers of eligibility requirements
- Work closely with the team to plan, prepare and market participants for successful placement outcomes
- Effectively demonstrate best practices and promote awareness of our organization's mission and vision
- Manage employer and participant expectations, and demonstrate personal resilience in handling setbacks and objections
- Present in a style that displays high energy, trustworthiness and projects a great first impression
- Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to work demands and circumstances
- Actively promote and support the mission, vision and values of our organization by maintaining social, ethical and organizational standards and values, always honouring commitments and treating people with dignity, respect and fairness
This is a full-time position operating in the Gympie, Kingaroy, and wider Gympie region. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and values-driven individual who cares about people and wants a job that makes a difference.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Prior employment services experience will be highly regarded, but not essential
- Strong customer service/sales experience and strong communication and interpersonal skills with a flair for networking
- Reverse marketing, sales or cold calling experience
- Demonstrated ability working towards targets and KPIs
- Problem solving and conflict resolution
- Excellent time management skills
- Resilient in nature and able to thrive in a continuously changing environment
