Teaching Position

Job Description:

The Primary Teacher will be responsible for teaching a range of students and is accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. The teacher will plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students, dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development, time management and organisational abilities, and current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
  • Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
  • Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
  • Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
  • Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
  • Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students

Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Education
  • Hold Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching or be eligible to apply for registration
  • As part of our screening requirement, reference checks will be undertaken including referencing your ability to work safely with children.
