About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our Cloud Services organization at Amazon. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving large-scale global projects and initiatives, leading cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new workflow features and tools that enhance productivity, open capacity at a faster rate, and secure devices to AWS standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Gather Business Requirements: Document functional and design specifications, define User Acceptance Criteria for testing software, and ensure systems capture applicable data to enable customers to measure how effective their processes and leveraged software are from a day-to-day basis.
  2. Project Planning and Execution: Identify and assemble the appropriate resources for each project, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project.
  3. Risk Management and Escalation: Contribute with cross-functional business and technical skills, assess and manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs with the technical constraints.
  4. Communication and Influence: Rely heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverables, manage repair requests in a high-volume environment, and manage response to high-severity events.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Present to Sr. Leadership on a regular basis, demonstrating the ability to synthesize the problems and the solutions into a simple and consumable manner.
  6. Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect, analyze, and present data to help others recognize the best path to make the business better.
About the Team

The Cloud Services organization provides operational solutions and cleared support for services within our regions. We provide 'hands-on keyboard' support to our service teams by deploying changes into isolated regions, monitoring the results, and reporting any issues that are observed.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience.
