Job Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to provide comprehensive patient care and coordinate the supervision of care delivered by junior staff and students.

This role offers a chance to work in a 42-bed Medical Rehabilitation ward, providing nursing care to both Medical and Rehabilitation patients. We are looking for someone with acute and rehabilitation experience who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Oversight of total patient care.
  • Awareness of all patients' needs, conditions, and progress.
  • Regular contact with patients throughout the shift.
  • Ensuring all patient needs are met.
  • Involvement of patients in their own care and decision making.
  • Documentation of nursing care using nursing history, care plans, and/or care pathways.
  • Proper documentation and implementation of medical treatment requests, consulting with doctors if unclear.
  • Organised planning and execution of nursing activities.
  • Maintenance and improvement of technical skills such as ECG interpretation, intravenous cannula insertion, chest pain management, and other critical care skills.
  • Safe execution of all nursing procedures.
  • Maintenance of high-quality work standards.

You will have registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and demonstrate the ability to use initiative, reliability, and minimal supervision.

To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Medical Rehabilitation specialty and demonstrate appropriate skills and competencies related to the ward.
