The Business Affairs and Legal Executive provides strategic advice to senior executives and production heads, involving negotiation of deal terms and management of agreement drafting and finalization.

About the Job
  • Advising executives and production personnel on transactional legal matters arising from production activities.
  • Negotiating and preparing agreements for concepts, formats, and pre-existing properties.
  • Managing the negotiation and drafting of talent and contributor agreements, access and location agreements, producer agreements, and other development and production-related agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing programs at the pre-publication stage to identify risk and address legal concerns.
  • Providing guidance to executives and production personnel on legal issues surrounding press coverage of productions/talent.
  • Assisting with the preparation of applications for funding.
Qualifications + Skills + Knowledge:
  • Admitted as a solicitor in one or more States in Australia, with 7+ years of experience in general commercial law and IP.
  • Good knowledge of child licensing, data protection, and editorial compliance.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and escalations.
  • Capacity to work independently, under pressure, and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
