Agricultural Security Specialist

This position plays a vital role in maintaining the security of our agricultural sector and protecting the environment.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee operational goals and activities, adhering to established standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive team culture and contributing to team development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Supervise Biosecurity Officers to ensure tasks are performed correctly and safely.
The state's agricultural prosperity is safeguarded by preventing and mitigating plant and animal pests and diseases. This position supports high animal welfare standards and access to interstate markets.
Detailed Responsibilities- Undertake compliance activities under relevant legislation, including the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 and the Biosecurity Act 2014.
- Possess thorough knowledge and skills in administration and compliance with internal procedures and systems.
- Participate in disease surveillance and emergency response activities, which may include collecting samples from live and deceased animals.
Candidates must undergo a criminal history check as part of their application process.
