About the Role

We are seeking someone ready to take the next step in their career who brings 1-3 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm, CA/CPA studies underway or near completion, a strong interest in agriculture, a collaborative mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a client-centric approach.

This role involves supporting managers and partners with tasks like bank reconciliations, BAS, IAS and financial statements, month-end processes, regular financial reporting, account reconciliation, bookkeeping functions, and contributing to a client-focused team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BANK RECONCILIATIONS: Ensure accuracy of cash flow and liquidity management by performing comprehensive bank reconciliations.
  • BAS AND FINANCIAL STATEMENTS: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Financial Statements for clients, ensuring timely submission and accurate representation of business performance.
  • MONTH-END PROCESSES: Execute monthly close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, to ensure seamless financial reporting.
  • REGULAR FINANCIAL REPORTING: Provide timely and actionable financial insights to stakeholders through regular reporting, analysis, and recommendations.
  • ACCOUNT RECONCILIATION: Reconcile and resolve discrepancies between company records and external accounts, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • BOOKKEEPING FUNCTIONS: Perform various bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance, to support efficient financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Public Practice Accounting Firm Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a public practice accounting firm, preferably in agribusiness or related fields.
  • CA/CPA Studies: Currently studying or have completed Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualifications.
  • Agricultural Interest: Strong interest in agriculture and its related sectors, with knowledge of industry trends and challenges.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, fostering open communication and a client-centric approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
