Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the effective planning, implementation and management of daily site construction activities, encompassing quality control, cost control, scheduling, environmental and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Management: Organize and coordinate construction activities in accordance with construction schedules and programmes, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring programme, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met at all times.
  • Resource Management: Procure and manage required plant, equipment and materials for allocated projects, guaranteeing they arrive on time as per the programme.
  • Project Coordination: In conjunction with the Project Manager, coordinate all requirements for temporary works, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Contribute to progress reports and relevant documentation to management and clients, providing accurate insights into project status.
  • Risk Assessment and SWMS: Identify the need for and participate in the development and review of risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
Requirements:
  • A minimum industry-related trade qualification (Cert III or above) relevant to construction, utilities infrastructure, tunnelling or building.
  • A valid construction general safety induction card.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing safety and environment control measures.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, layout plans and schematic drawings.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Essential Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have extensive experience in shaft construction or microtunnelling on water infrastructure projects in Australia.
