The Role

As a Senior Advisor for Air Traffic Services, you will have accountability in ensuring the scope being delivered through the WS/CB Portfolio remains aligned with Airservices' service outcomes.

You are recognised as having expert knowledge of Air Traffic Management operations and how they integrate within the broader business and are able to actively contribute to all elements of the WS/CB Portfolio, including the engineering capability requirements.

You will maintain key contacts across relevant business groups and subject matter experts in confirming the business needs relevant to the WS/CB Portfolio by providing authoritative advice to the leadership team on recommended actions to meet both the business needs for Airservices and those of other WS/CB Portfolio stakeholders external to Airservices.

You will demonstrate leadership through the appropriate engagement of stakeholders in maintaining alignment between operational concepts and Program scope.

You will work closely with the WS/CB Engineering Senior Advisor in leading change associated with the Portfolio. Together, you will be responsible for clarifying the scope and requirements associated with new initiatives prior transitioning them to execution.

The magnitude of new initiatives will dictate the number of subject matter experts you will lead through the scope definition phase.

You and your team will support you in maintaining Airservices' record of Safety, Environmental, WHS, Risk and Compliance excellence in acquitting your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Airservices goals by providing educational subject matter expertise for specific processes, functions or technologies to other teams within Airservices.
  • Provide authoritative advice to Portfolio leadership on recommended courses of action to balance project outcomes against service capability requirements.
  • Interpret business needs through project initiation and definition.
  • Assure expected service outcomes are delivered from the WS/CB Portfolio.
  • Lead regular and transparent engagements with relevant business stakeholders in communicating Program change management outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of operational concepts aligned to business objectives.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Air Traffic Management operations. Significant tower experience required.
  • Knowledge of ARFF operations and Aerodrome Emergency Procedures.
  • Possesses or has the capability to obtain the requisite Airservices Technical Endorsement.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with interpreting the organisation's business and strategic objectives in defining scope to deliver against those objectives, including the development of business and stakeholder requirements, options, costs, risks and benefits.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ATM automation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine user requirements for technology which supports Air Traffic Services, ensuring technology remains fit for purpose.
  • Demonstrated values-based leadership, and ability to build organisational capability and culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a coherent and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of subject matter experts to articulate and clarify operational concepts to address service capability requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present innovative solutions and influence outcomes.
  • Qualifications in Project Management with experience is desirable.
