About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Lived Experience Consultant. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the reform of Victoria Legal Aid's remand service and make a real difference in the lives of people facing remand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Remand Support and Advocacy Service (RSAS) project team in the creation of a new service that meets the non-legal needs of people facing remand.
  • Facilitate and coordinate a lived experience group with membership drawn from people who have personal experience of the criminal justice system.
  • Work with First Nations Australians and/or priority client groups in a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and person-centered way.
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience working from a lived experience perspective in a designated role.
  • Previous experience in group facilitation.
  • Proven experience working with First Nations Australians and/or priority client groups.
  • Post-secondary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
