Clearing Customs Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Clearing Customs Specialist to join our team in Melbourne.

This position is responsible for ensuring the customs clearance of goods that enter and exit the country in accordance with procedures and transit time standards.

Your typical day at our company:

  • Authorize operational requirements to facilitate efficient customs and security clearances. Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Identify tariff benefits, concessions, and initiatives to optimize clearance processes.
  • Provide expert advice on tariff classifications and concessions while addressing client inquiries. Establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Contribute to timely lodgment of declarations and attainment of clearances. Maximize pre-clearance levels and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate product files, ensure data integrity, and liaise with internal teams and service providers to support smooth operations.

About you:

  • Valid License and Accreditation 19.1 & 19.2.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving customs-related issues.
  • Ability to meet KPIs and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and duty minimization strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
