Pain Management Clinical Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced Pain Management Clinical Leader to join our team in Broken Hill, NSW.

This key role involves providing high-quality service as a member of the multidisciplinary team in pain management, covering chronic and acute pain (pre-operative, post-operative, procedural, trauma, and disease-related pain), predominantly within perioperative and inpatient settings.

The successful applicant will act as a resource to other healthcare professionals and services to enhance capability, knowledge, and delivery of pain management services, including pain assessment and management strategies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing clinical leadership in pain management across the multidisciplinary team.
  • Developing and implementing effective pain management strategies and protocols.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and services to enhance pain management capabilities.
  • Providing education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on pain management.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current Authority to Practise as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience, including 3 years in the specialty and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing and managing workload.

Requirements:

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive clinical expertise and leadership in chronic and acute pain management.
  • Ability to identify education needs and develop education plans and resource material for patients/clients and healthcare professionals.
  • Current NSW driver's license with the ability to drive for work purposes, including occasional long distances and overnight stays.

  • The position is based in Broken Hill, NSW, with occasional travel required to other locations.
  • The successful applicant will be required to work varying shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
