Job Description

The role of a Principal Innovation Project Delivery Office is to oversee the end-to-end delivery of portfolio initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions from product development to on-site pilot demonstration. This involves managing planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and execution while adhering to BHP's governance frameworks.

As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with personnel from Asset projects, operations, and technology, as well as TAD functions and other functional teams within the organization. Your primary objective will be to ensure alignment of pilots with Asset customers, develop pilot execution plans, and establish statements of requirements and investment requests in partnership with TAD and Asset SMEs.

About You

We are seeking an experienced professional who can demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working with operational Assets in Mining, preferably in underground mining environments;
  • Qualifications in an Engineering discipline and/or Project Management;
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including cost and schedule development and control;
  • A deep understanding of the day-to-day operations of our partners in the Assets, with an appreciation of the competing priorities and tensions that may impact the priority given to innovative trials;
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and technical experts;
  • Proficiency in technical document writing, scheduling, cost control, and risk management;
  • Experience resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination across departments;
