As a key member of the finance function, the Group Financial Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring the financial transparency and governance of the organisation. This newly created role will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for leading the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Prepare entity level and consolidated 3-way financial statements.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of all payroll, provisions, cash and loan accounts.
- Assist the Group Finance Manager in the preparation of quarterly financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with all financial reporting obligations, including regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with GST, ITR and OSR regulations and oversee the timely filing of returns.
- Complete annual OSR reconciliations and file returns.
- Oversee the organisation's treasury functions, coverage and hedge positions, including cash flow management and forecasting.
- Assist in the development of treasury policies and procedures to optimise liquidity and mitigate financial risks.
- Facilitate the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
- Prepare audit schedules, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and comprehensive annual financial statements.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related area; preference given to candidates with CA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Demonstrated track record in financial accounting, month-end reporting, consolidations and financial analysis.
- Thorough understanding of corporate tax, GST, financial reporting regulations, and treasury operations.
- Firm grasp of accounting principles and methodologies.
- Background in overseeing year-end audit procedures and crafting annual financial statements.
- Outstanding leadership abilities and communication aptitude.
- Advanced mastery of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
