About this role

We're seeking a strategic leader to take charge of safety and compliance operations across Victoria. This is your chance to shape the future of heavy vehicle regulation in Australia.

This role involves leading people through complexity and change. As our safety and compliance leader, you'll drive force behind safe and efficient transportation across borders. Your leadership will impact how we keep heavy vehicle transport safe, consistent and effective.

You'll set the tone for your team, build capability and shape a culture of accountability, professionalism and service excellence. With a mix of hands-on oversight and high-level strategic input, you'll balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day delivery. This is a key leadership role requiring clarity, confidence and a steady hand, someone who can make decisions, guide others and keep things moving forward.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead operational delivery across Victoria
  • Coach and support senior officers
  • Oversee workforce planning and strategic projects
  • Improve processes, drive innovation and strengthen service delivery
  • Be a key player in national transport reform.

About You

  • At least 10 years experience leading operational teams in complex environments
  • Strong communication, change leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Someone who thrives under pressure and keeps people on track
  • A sharp eye for strategy, safety and service excellence
