Case Manager - Drug and Alcohol Clinician

Overview of the Role:

The Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment (MERIT) program is a court diversion initiative that offers an opportunity for individuals with drug and alcohol problems to address their substance use and associated lifestyle issues.

As a MERIT Case Manager, you will work with clients who are before the court and provide assessment, intensive case management, support, counselling, and treatment to improve their lifestyle and health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored interventions and promote lasting change.
  • Provide assessment, intensive case management, support, counselling, and treatment to defendants with a drug and/or alcohol issue.
  • Collaborate with government and non-government services, as well as community groups, to provide holistic treatment and prevention approaches.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in nursing, occupational therapy, or psychology, or a related field such as social work, counselling, or welfare.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in holistic treatment and prevention approaches applicable to individuals presenting with complex needs.
  • Applied knowledge and competency in case management and treatment options for individuals and their families affected by problematic or harmful drug use.
